Hi SoCal Applied Wing Chun Students,

Do you ever feel like your hands are moving too slow to react to punches or kicks thrown against you?

It can happens when we focus on the hands and think too much.  What are the attacker’s hands doing? Is he throwing a roundhouse kick? Are my hands in the right position.  That is good information to have, but only for a split second. You can’t dwell on it.  That is what slows us down. So dry run and practice the technique until you can feel that your hands and elbows are in the right position. Keep your eyes on the attackers centerline and use peripheral vision to notice what his hands and arms are doing.  Try this at your next training class, make it consistent and you will see your hand speed improve.

Have a great week!
